Highmark lien funds

Just got a big packet from my atty. They released the funds that they were holding in their escrow account to me. Along with the check they sent a letter explaining they can not get a response from Highmark. (this isn't anything new). They have been holding this moeny for about 5 months, according to the letter, and trying to get them to respond.
A few months ago they agreed to settle for 25% less the money owed and the atty counter offered 33%. It is like pulling teeth to get Highmark to even return a phone call.
I plan on taking the check to the bank tomorrow and setting it aside in a savings account. I have a few questions though. They set aside the total medical money including the 25% I was suppose to be relieved of. Can I still keep that amount? Let me explain. Say the total bills were $1000...they were suppose to only take $750 so is the $250 still mine or should I wait to keep my share?
How long will they have to come back for this money? Is there a time limit ? Both the atty and myself have tried endlessly to get this settle and they just do not respond. Before this even all settled they did not want anything and then before it did they wanted a small amount.
Just not sure how long I am suppose to wait for them to make up their minds or even return a phone call. Anyone have any answers to my questions? I would appreciate it.

Ok...finally got a few answers. Apparently the atty sent a letter to the insurance company stating they were releasing thee funds to me with in 30 days if they did not hear back from them. They got no response so that is why they sent the money. There is no said Statute of limitations for them to ask for the money back.
They says the have started really pursuing medical payback in the past couple years but it is usually for a lot more money. They feel this may not have been worth their efforts. So I was advised to set it aside for a few months or at least the year mark which would be March 2010. this is what I was planning on doing anyway.
Just thought I would update in case someone else needed the answer.
