Due to the ever increasing costs of health insurance, many people are looking for alternatives.
As a result, companies are coming out of the woodwork selling medical expense policies known as "Mini-Meds".
These programs are not major medical insurance, but will reimburse certain medical expenses based on a pre-determined schedule.

Has anyone purchased one of these "Mini-Meds" and how has it worked for you?

From what I have heard mini-meds are designed such that they offer the best possible coverage for regular medical care. It is specially designed for the underinsured or for those who have a low budget to stick to. However, the coverage plan may vary from one state to another depending on the state laws.

The mini-meds sounds a pretty good alternative in the present scenario of soaring health insurance expenses. Though it offers only limited benefits, but it may reduce the cost of managing the health coverage to a large extent.

The limited benefit plans also works wonders for the people who may have got their coverage applications denied because of the ailing health condition.

Mini-med plans may help them to receive coverage against moderate premium rate, when the cost of traditional policy might be extremely high.
