Good afternoon! What companies are you looking at. There are many different health insurance programs that are considered PPO's and many times they vary greatly by location. An important thing to remember about PPO's is that they have networks. Make sure that you understand the difference in costs between in network and out of network providers. As in any health policy, compare office visits...specialists...hospital services...outpatient surgery...premiums...deductibles...lab services...etc.

If you give us a little more information, we may be able to get more specific.

I guess the in-network providers would cost lesser than the out of network providers!
Now, do all of them disclose their networks to us?

You start with major medical. Compare how many millions they cover. You pick the deductible and co-insurance. The higher the deductible, the lower the premium. If you want dr copays, they will raise your premium. You may also want a drug plan.

There is a primer on health insurance on the internet.

State law in every state requires healthcare service contractors to provide their enrollees with a document listing the providers that are within the network.

By the way- PPOs are not health insurance policies. They're "healthcare service contracts," and there is a BIG difference. Exclamation Exclamation
