| Heres a question you probaly was expecting..what is ALE. I know I may drive people nuts with these questions but I also look at it from the stand point "what if it happened to me or someone close" . It would give me an idea of what to do in that case and make sure I would have the coverage. Better safe than sorry. |

ALE=Additional Living Expense....(you're not driving anyone nuts, that's what this forum is about learning and exchange of ideas and solutions )...if you have a claim and cannot live in your home for a period of time and have to rent a place to stay that's where the money comes from this coverage...it will not pay your existing mortgage payment, utilitys on the insured dwelling etc...(here is where people get screwed up)...it's ADDITIONAL...not EXISTING...so it pays the rent, or hotel bill, eating out etc...until your home is once again safe to move into most policys have a dollar amount limit...I've never seen an HO policy that did not have this coverage. _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake. Keep in mind that most insurance companies will put a maximum number of months (usually 12) that they will pay.
That is a very reasonable amount of time. _________________ Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. - Ferris Bueller |
