Is it possible to get a house/ apartment insurance even if you are renting? if not, then what is the best insurance to apply for a person living in flats/ apartment since all are attached and if fire comes, hope not, but what else will be insured of? :?:

You need to obtain a renters policy. This covers your own property and protects you when you are liable for causing a loss. You don't insure the building as you don't own it.

You can calculate your saving on home premium with the help of the home insurance premium saving calculator available in this site.

Further, higher level of deductible would allow your to gain immediate benefits of premium rate reduction. But while deciding the deductible rate also remember that you should be able to meet your commitment at the time of claim.

True, the renters insurance would protect the renter from the losses of personal belongings. The property owners policy though may cover the structure of the renter portion but it wouldn't the your personal possessions. Hence, if you are renting an apartment, make sure to contact agent and get the renter's coverage.

Renter polices are inexpensive and yet would help you to leave peacefully.

Since you do not own the building, the cover of the insurance might be only for the owner of that building. Well, if there is an agreement between you and the owner then it could be possible.thats what i know, i might check some info about this.

I think you can't get insurance if you have rental house / apartment.
you can get property insurance policy to cover it.

Thanks

Dear President,Hats off. what a sceeph!I have been with the Indian Nonlife insurance industry for the last 29 years and have been actively involved in formulating health insurance policies.I could not help but sms my colleagues in the industry to listen to your sceeph,I was specially impressed byyour thought on 1. pre-existing conditions.2.affordable health insurance for one and all.3.bringing down the cost of health insurance by bringing the young and healthy who do not take insurance cover.4.No person should go broke just because he /she is sick.5. denial of healthcare when it is critical and crucial.Dear President, Have you pondered over health insurance for the mentally and physically challenged. Today the medical fraternity finds it difficult to treat these people due to response identification. The insurance industry may treat this section of people as uninsurable.6. Funding healthcare= I am glad you touched upon it.In India , I agree less than 2 % are insured. I take heart from your thought on funding. Our country may not be rich, all the more reason why we need to bring our entire population under affordable and timely health care .Therefore your thought process overwhelmed me.I am your ardent fan . You speak from your heart. a person who wishes to deliver on his promise,When the formulators in INDIA speak about health being a state subject and hence a constraint for the overall monitoring, I vehemently say change the constitution. If Barack Obama can become the President of the United States of America, Why should it not be possible for us to amend the Constitution,God Bless, regards,S.Sarasawani(mrs)
