Which i was fine with but instead of paying me they said the people who own the dog file bankruptcy so now they do not have to pay me i was just wondering if that was true This happen in Mississipi . I was wondering if somebody could give me so advise on what to do about this

Not only does that make no sense, I really doubt it happened like that. The solvancy of the insured makes no difference what so ever and I fail to see how any insurance company would say that it does.

1) Confirm that a denial is being made and why.
1b) Until its in writing, its not a denial

2) If they are denying the claim as their insured is insolvant (which will not be the case), speak to a supervisor and manager and find out how they can deny their insured coverage for this reason.

3) If they are going to deny the claim, file a complaint with your state's Dept of Insurance

4) Seek legal representation.

Does bankruptcy affect a claim process? I guess not, therefore, you should receive the compensation, if it's a rightful claim. If the other party's insurer isn't complying with the rules of paying a claim, you're required to file a complaint against it with the state insurance department.

No one is required to file a complaint.

Why not?

Because filing complaints with the state DOI, is ALWAYS optional...no one REQUIRES a complaint be filed

I can't see waht bankruptsy has to do with anything. How can it? I am sure that person did not file bankrupsy against his insurance company. If it was a denial how come they made the offer to settle to begin with. Guess I am confused.
