We're really worried about the possibility of a fire breakout, especially after we'd been witness to the damages caused in our neighborhood. What does a home fire insurance cover us from? Does it come to us as a part of our home owner insurance? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

If you are asking if the peril of 'fire' is covered under your HO policy..then yes..I've never seen any dwelling policy without it...pull your policy out and read it or let us know which 'form' you have and we can let you know for sure. _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake. | I guess this is a requirement for all mortgage companies who'd offer home loans. |

| Once the home owner obtains full ownership after paying off the house, he might choose to continue with the home fire insurance. He could either do this with his original HO insurance provider or with a new provider. |

| There are certain agencies who'd offer home fire coverage along with their home owners policies. Such agencies would allow you to investigate their coverage benefits. Some times these home fire policies will also cover you for burglary or hooliganism. |

ALL Homeowner forms, dwelling forms and similar contracts cover fire as a peril. Every single one with NO exceptions. You cannot even buy a homeowner policy without coverage for fire in the U.S. I am truly confused by this as a result:

Would you explain? The days where you could buy fire insurance protection on an "ala-cart" basis, where you "choose" the perils you'd like to be insured against, ended 30 years ago.
Remember the basics, the whole property coverage thing for the modern era started with fire insurance. Then you had the standardized 1945 New York fire policy that really started the whole shebang. Now you have a Baskin-Robbins flavor filled selection from which to choose.
If there's anyone out there who knows of a HO policy WITHOUT fire coverage, please let me know. After doing this business for waaaay too many years, I've never seen one.
