House has been maintained over the years. Now has new damage and I would like to file a claim if I can, but not sure how since the insurance is in their name eventhough my name is on the mortgage with theirs.

Hi Deborah, since the policy holders are your daughter and son-in-law, I don't think you can claim against the policy. And, in this case you have to pursue them to file a claim with the insurer.

BTW, how much is the damage? How are they planning to fix the property? Is the lien holder aware of the incident? Who is responsible for paying the mortgage installments?

Pls answer the above questions. Meanwhile I'd search for more information in this regard.
