Sure... you just need to know the value of the home. There are many ways to obtain this... look at comps in your area or obtain an appraisal.

Yes, your policy should cover your home for all the special features. You should know the policy basics as well as the type of perils that it covers. You should inquire about other similar policies in order to compare and have the best coverage for you. Make sure your policy has the inflation protection benefit as well.
