Our old country home has certain wooden floors and moldings. We'd like to get this place covered for the right value. Is it possible for us to know if it's underinsured?

Make an appointment to have the policy reviewed and then you'll know.

Sure... you just need to know the value of the home. There are many ways to obtain this... look at comps in your area or obtain an appraisal.

Yes, your policy should cover your home for all the special features. You should know the policy basics as well as the type of perils that it covers.

You should inquire about other similar policies in order to compare and have the best coverage for you. Make sure your policy has the inflation protection benefit as well.

It's truly important that you'd evaluate your personal property each day. A general home insurance policy offers certain coverage limitations towards properties such as boats, PCs, jewelry etc. A clear review of your property insurance requirements would be beneficial to decide if you'd need additional coverage.
