One of my employees installed a machine at the customer's house improperly and that caused damage to the home. If the customer makes a claim then which part of the general liability policy will take care of it?

The products/completed operations part of the General liability policy provides the coverage due to improper installation of products by your employee.

I would not think this would be a homeowner policy issue, if you are a company and you come to my house and cause damage, your insurance company is responsible. At least that is the way that I would pursue it, unless you gave me a hard time about it, then I would let my insurance company deal with you, they are insuring me, I would let them get hairy with you if need be.

I agree with you goodnatured, I would think that the company would have to have insurance, I would not hire a company that was not insured. Any damages should be covered under there insurance.

Fatman is right. Products and Completed Operations coverage out of your Commercial General Liability (CGL) policy.

The homeowner policy will not pay for improper installation- it's specifically excluded.
