Home Improvement

I'm planning to do some work on my home and want to hire someone to assist me with some of the general labor. Maybe family member, maybe other. This work will take place over the course of 4 or 5 weeks. How do I cover that
person and myself in the event of injury? I live in California.

You buy them a health insurance policy if you want to "cover them"... as you are really asking about providing them heath insurance.

Your home owners policy provides liability coverage to protect _you_ if _you_ cause the other person to become injured.

The employees of the insured homeowner usually are covered under the homeowner's policy only. Liability coverage will be enough to cover the damages.
