Insurance Industry, I Need your help on the Paperless Office

by NicolaChubb » Fri Feb 09, 2007 10:39 am

Hi,

Please I need your Insurance Expertise!!

I am an undergraduate at Bournemouth University in England and for my Dissertation am looking into the adoption of the Paperless office.

My father owns a small paperless insurance brokerage in Bournemouth, England which has motivated my interest in researching the paperless office for the insurance industry.

If you could spare approx 2-4 minutes to fill in a short questionnaire to help collate some primary research for the topic I would be extremely grateful.

To fill in the questionnaire please follow this:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=654303253241

I am only targeting people who work in the insurance industry, so using the internet and forums seems like a good way to reach a large sample size.

I thank you all for your time in advance. If you would like further information on this or to see my research paper when it is completed then please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,
Nicola Chubb

You are very clever and i am sure this is a very good way of saving because according to costs related to research, getting information out of people in this way is the most cost effective way.

I sure would like to see a study on why the paperless office I have seen always have more paper! Just one of those "How did that happen" type of thing I have seen in my years being on this great and lovely place we all like to call Earth.

Thank you all for your support.

Monique - of course I will be more than happy to provide a summary of my research once I have collated the information.

Rick - So far in my research of existing literature it is apparant that predictions surrounding the 'electronic future' would naturally lead to a paperless office (as more processes became digitalised) yet the adoption of email/internet/ease and use of printers has in fact had the opposite effect and resulted increased paper usage.

It is interesting that with the government looking to create a more sustainable future could this be an area to improve upon? Hence my research into the state of the insurance industry (as a paper intensive industry) and its opinion on the advantages and disadvantages of becoming more paperless.

Just a note we have adopted a nationwide paperless system, from managing the contacts, leads, agents, and more our system provides the insurance prospecting to final application all done electroniclly. This has been in developement for a little over a year and is fully functional at this time, maybe it will give you some ideas.
