For those of you who have been working with Allstate company (capitve) how would you say your first year went or is going? What would you say would be a realistic number for salary?

For the people who have worked out Allstate would you say you received the training and support needed to go independent. Do they teach you the in's and outs of their products, as well as the competition or is it a sink or swim modality? It would seem that many people on this forum are content with a base salary + commission and I'm curious to know why that is when you can go work for an independent agency and earn more money. I am on 100% ocmmission and it is hard, especially just starting out.

was offered job as insurance agent for : base salary is 25,000 plus commission. Commission paid on new business is 25% and renewal is 15%. Is this good?
