I'm sure there are quite a handful. And by questions they can't ask, I mean when it's prohibited by law.

Hi my friend, in my opinion the agent may ask you any such question that may decide the course of your application getting accepted. It would help you avail your benefits in the long run!

Hi,

I'm sure of one thing that its always better to disclose your financial status with the carrier (with the agent being a representative). This would protect your interests as well as help you to stay put to the legal guidelines.

Thanks,

Yes, there are some questions the agent is often not permitted to ask you (but that would again vary from one state to another) --

Generally he can't ask you about your lineage, place of origin, legacies, family titles, information about your parents or spouse (unless specifically associated to your policy), name or address of any of your relatives (if you are an adult applicant), about your skin color (or general physical features for that matter), former employees or acquaintances, your social organizations or members associated with you. Hope these are the noted ones!

So basically, he can't know anything about my family unless they have hereditary diseases. Whenever if I'm a member of MENSA or not is none of his concern, the fact that my entire family is on first-name terms with Jerry Springer, who used to work for me, and that the Don is my BFF, is none of his business. Got it.

Sorry, had to say something to make myself laugh, thanks Sasha. I guess I'll just have to ask what the relevance is if it raises an eyebrow.
