You should choose the line depending upon the size of the market in your area. Hence need to do a bit of market survey before settling for one. Also you may like to consult the agents doing business in your locality. They can also guide you through the process of decision making.

If you would like some more info on this I would be happy to try and guide you. The line will depend on what you like to do and your personaly and really where you are located.

Home and Auto will keep you busy as everyone needs it but the commissions tend to be low. Life insurance has higher commissions but it is a much tougher sale. You have to find your clients, hussle and close, but the end result is much higher pay.
Health insurance usually an easy test in most states is good to have either way as many people need it and the commissions are good and usually steady. Feel free to ask me any questions that you have on anything I would be happy to help you in any way that I can.

Each state has their own requirements. When I became licensed I lived in Delaware and they are self study. I am now in Maryland and they require you go to school. You should check with your Insurance Commissioner

I would venture to say that the senior market is a pretty safe bet. Getting to know medicare and helping people is great. Not to mention most of the plans have zero premium so there is no exchange of money, makes it a little easier.... and the commissions are great!
