Who is using a blog to promote their insurance business?

How is it working for you? Any advice to give?

I have a blog where I write short insurance tips(http://cheaper-insurance-online.com/blog/). I'm not sure how much business it is getting me, but it was easy to set up and I like to write.

frankly speaking i do not have any blog to promote insurance business but surely whatever i have learn from the SEO, it is sure that you can promote your blog through 100 different types of forums or yahoo answers.compile a good bunch of articles separately with different URLs then search for the questions what people want to know about insurance on yahoo answers.you will have plenty of them provide your best answers with sign of your blog.

i think this is sufficient if you can duplicate it..

Good advice amit!

And let's define SEO = Search Engine Optimization

If someone was to Google Gary Spicuzza, my name and my site will come up 6 ways to Sunday and on ALL search engines the agency is in the top position.

Google.com
Yahoo.com
Ask.com
MSN.com

Go ahead,... try it,... see for yourself what happens when you Google Gary Spicuzza.

I find it comical that people who are licensed in the financial services industry use "screen names" on message boards. It really doesn't matter how brilliant your financial advice may be if nobody and especially your clients and prospective clients don't know who you are.

I've had clients come into my office with print outs of articles (more accurately described as rants) thankful for the information as they never really knew or understood the subject matter of the article/rant.

We now live in the age of instant information.

Even the President of the United States of America can't separate himself from his Black Barry.
