A lot of it depends on what type of opportunity you are looking for. If you are looking at working primarily with Life Insurance / Annuities...you could very easily become independent and work as you please. There are many different ways to work in the Health Insurance, Long Term Care, Medicare Program arenas, but one of the major differences is that you will receive training and support from the aforementioned companies.

If you are experienced, and feel that you do not need the training or support...you may be better off becoming an independent. Another thing to consider will be how you will solicit business? Are you going to purchase leads? Are you going to build your business by personal networking?

There are so many things that could make a difference...but I'm sure some other agents on the forum will share their personal experiences with these companies. If there's anything I can help you with...let me know!
