The Agency is located in Georgia. I have a market for some Non Standard Auto and Home business and I want to know what companies offer the most competitive pricing.

Please let me know what other information you need to answer this question.

Cws, I was just wondering....is selling non-standard policies more profitable to the agent than selling standard plans since non-stanndard plans would attract greater premiums?

Jeorge, I don't think that it's more profitable due to the premiums being higher as with Non Standard markets it's a revolving door as people are constantly looking for better rates or may not be able to constantly pay that high premium. Also as soon as people are able to become Standard and Preferred customers they will leave those high premiums.

My issue was that I've passed up alot of business because I don't represent those Non Standard carriers. So if I were to retain some Non Standard business hopefully they would stay long enough to become Standard or even Preferred and I could move them to another company within my agency.

Cws, I think there would be a rise in the number of consumers for non-standard policies. With the country's debt situation getting worse number of people with poor credit have increased significantly and since they would not qualifying for the standard rates they would flock in the non-standard market.

Have you experienced any such changes in the non-standard policy market recently?

Jeorge,

I'm currently not in the Non Standard auto market and would like to fill the void for that type of business. I'm under the impression that the premiums would be higher or around the same as the other carriers but maybe these Non Standard companies have lenient pay and down payment requirements. I've been unable to fit the persons I feel that would benefit from a Non Standard carrier with the current Preferred and Standard companies I represent.
