Turns out examFX's parent company ATI had their accreditations pulled and got shut down in Florida, Oklahoma and Texas for unethical practices.

Now the federal government has sued ATI, alleging fraud to get money. The federal suit accuses ATI recruiters of using high-pressure tactics to recruit ex-convicts and homeless people as students, even though many of those people would never be able to get a job because of their criminal records or skills. Once the students enrolled in courses like business administration, welding and health care, the suit says ATI falsified student grades and attendance records to acquire more federal money than those students would have been entitled to.

The suit also accuses ATI of falsifying job placements.

ATI has 16 campuses in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona and Florida, and Dallas Nursing Institute in North Texas.

The federal government says ATI took in at least $236 million in federal grants and loans between 2005 and 2012. The suit does not say how much of that money was acquired fraudulently.

This is what I found on examFX's Parent Corporation.

What does this have to do with insurance prelicensing courses? Nothing. Just like the problems AIG had had nothing to do with their insurance company subsidiaries.

They're life and health product is OK. Depending on what state you are in does make a difference. Because each state requires a certain number of hours to get a certificate of completion for each line. Which you will need to present at the test site. In my state a minimum of 20 hours are required just for the certificate of completion but I would suggest a lot more if your state requires the same. The reason for more hours is that you are going to learn a new language and that takes time. Again, the life and health ExamFX is OK. The property and casualty is not well structured and I wouldn't recommend using ExamFX for the P&C. I have come across some providers who recommend taking either the property in one setting and then the casualty. Most anyone who has taken both will tell you the truth, I hope, that its just way to many topics to remember when trying to prepare for both. They sell you on the idea that if you take both in one setting the part that you are strong in might allow you to pass by bringing up the weak part. But here again, its just to much info to memorize in a short period of time. As far as using an instructor that is a judgment call on your part. I prefer self-study without an instructor. Before you purchase spend time emailing and calling each provider. Don't be hasty spend time researching. There is quite a bit of negative information online about Examfx you just have to know where to look, to find it. I found it , and now I wouldn't use them again for major courses and I wouldn't tell my friends about them either. Except, life and health.

I recruit new insurance agents and did not have success or get good feedback from recruits who took the ExamFX courses. I switched to another online insurance school and I'm getting about 4 out of 5 passing on the first try instead of 1 out of 5. I get a propaganda email everyday from ExamFX saying that they have made improvements and they are trying to get back to being the industry leader. I have ask them to quit emailing me but it just made them send me more emails and now they call a couple times a week too, get a life !!

The next phone call you receive, ask to be put on their do not call list. When the call again after that, you may sue for $500-$1500 under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

The idiot that said not to use this material is an idiot. Yes, I said that twice. He obviously just tried to memorize the questions. Learn the concepts, not the questions. I reviewed this material and passed on the practice exams with a 93% being the highest score. I scored a 90% on my actual exam. I felt very prepared and zipped right through the test. I would recommend this to anyone...

I see most good comments on ExamFx are Guests posters...wondering why. This thread makes me worry cause I am using ExamFx right now!!!!!!!!! (my firm wants me to use it) and its little expensive than other prep schools. I decided to use " Insurance Schools.com" buy their practice exam package as supplement materails. From my own expirences of passing Series 7 and 63, my method was just do questions until you puke and I passed both with 85% and 90%. I intend using the same method to pass Life and Health. Any advise?

I took the exam fx course and felt like I stepped back into 1947. I have taken a few online courses in my day and it was almost like playing the first video game called "pong". They have an outdated learning system with 1950's style technology. I can watch black & white TV but I prefer it in color.

I used Exam FX and a book I bought from Amazon called Exam Cram Property and Casualty and I passed my state exam in Texas the first time. You have to study. Taking the Chapter tests repeatedly and the simulated tests and then studying your incorrect answers will get you through it. You can't wait until the last minute to try to get this done and pass the exam. Put in the time and effort and it will pay off.

Well said! This is far more important than a person's choice of educational provider. You can buy the books, and attend live or online classes, but without the effort to actually study the material, only a handful of people will actually pass the exams. That's one of the reasons that "first-time" examinees in California only pass the Life & Health exams about 60% of the time -- it's even lower for Property & Casualty exams.

Exactly, although this exam is much easier than Series 7, but it is still an State Exam, so study. Make sure when you take simulate exam, on wrong answers, write them down or print it out and study it.

I used examfx to study but two weeks prior to taking the exam I started to research online other topics, practice test and quizzes online. I passed the Wisconsin state exam and passed the first time as of 9-5-2014, 78% on the property exam and 86% on the casualty. I will say the ExamFx does cover most of the topics in the state exam although what I found was that the state exam focused on intermediaries, dwelling policies, CGL, CPP, BOP's, insurance basics, auto policies and work comp. I will say that understanding the dwelling policy is key. It hinges on many other coverage's which you will find out shortly if you try to skim over the topics. I studied probably close to 80 hrs to pass if not more but I passed the first time.
