I guess I'll just have to focus on convertible term for children. 210 people were just born in the last minute. Do toddlers need umbrella liability? |

Good idea to venture into a relative unexplored field. It is important for the insurance agents to keep exploring new avenues to do businesses.
However, I'm not very comfortable with the idea of purchasing a life insurance policy on a child. Though the definition, as well as the purpose of buying life policies has evolved since its inception, but IMO the purpose of buying a life policy is to protect the future financial interests of the dependents of the policy holder.
A child's policy may be inexpensive but it also doesn't generate great amount of wealth as a significant portion of the premium paid goes towards running the policy.
Folks, I'd certainly love to hear your opinions on this matter. I feel it cab generate good amount of discussion.

Yes, the agents have to have a better reason to be a part of this business for long. There is no point in trying to hide this fact that the agents are here to make money but to make sure that an agent enjoys his job he has to do the following
* While spreading awareness they would need to remember the economic segment that they are hitting & then only deliver their speech.
* They should offers to the best of the client's interest & not only think about his commission.
* They should spread the industry updates to the best interest of their clients while communicating with them.
* Follow up in order to make sure that the consumer has all that he had promised
* A good relationship that ensures the earliest response to his client's call may help an agent establish an effective network with similar other clients associated with his initial clients.

| IF you are looking for top contracts let me know. I work right now with FE and term. I would say it is a great chance to make money if you have a couple guys selling over the phone. The product is 100% over the phone. Good luck and let me know what you think. |

InsuranceGuyandGal,
You can make some real good money if you have a couple guys working with you. We do alot of final expense and put the agents at a high commission in hopes they do some business. If you want to try out final expense over the phone please let me know. I do know there is money to be made if you find the right companies. |

| I've gotten ads in the mail about that Gerber Life Insurance...says you can "start it with just $1.00." My son is 15 now, so I would say he's a bit 'old' for this policy..I don't know. Anyone have any experiences/advice on these policies? Are they 'legit'? |

| I am sure they are legit SD. My brother has insurance throught them. If anything you can always contact an agent if you feel unsure and they can advise you where the best place is if you want to carry life insurance on your child. Maybe even throw it out for the community to answer on a seperate post. People use to look down on Life insurance for children. I was one of them. I have seen alot over the years with children getting terminal illnesses and just something out of the blue happening. My judgement on childrens life insurance is changed. It really is a good thing to have. |

| YEP.....seems like now-a-days, the worst things happen to a child ( what I see, anyway..) Something that will build 'cash value.' I've looked at a few places..just haven't seen anything I'm looking for. |
