No one will cover your house while it is in disrepair. You will have to get the house completely fixed first. As to the two options the bank is telling you - they are right. Probably the best thing to do is talk to the bank about getting the home repaired....why you want to live there, why it should be repaired, how many other homes in your neighborhood are being repaired. I don't know where you live so I'm not sure how bad the area is but I have seen where banks want to get out of a high risk area so they don't repair houses but honestly...I have never heard of a bank saying no repair and you have to move. I lived in s. Florida when Hurricane Andrew came through and there was never talk about people not being allowed to rebuild
