I do not handle rating factors unless dealing with Commercial business and the formulas are worked out in the program I use unless again I work up Commercial quotes, then I sometime work that up myself.
I am an Independent agent meaning I can write business with multiple companies. We do have one company though that about 75% of our business is written with just because the rates and company is better than the rest. |

i am the agent that sells the insurane, binds the insurance. I need to upload it to the company that I have binding authority with to issue the policy. I am what's called a frontline underwriter. I have eligibility guidelines from the company. If I feel comfortable with the customer and they meet the guidelines then I can bind the policy. It then goes to the underwriter just to check everything out and make sure everything looks good. 9.9 times out of 10 I have no issues and the policy is processed.
