Day care liability insurance

Of late we're being more worried about the risk of physical injuries that might be caused to children inside our day care facility. Does anyone know of day care liability coverage? Would it be necessary for us to have one such policy?

While operating such facilities it's absolutely necessary for you to get covered for bodily injury as well as property damage. I hope it's a licensed facility!

There are some companies who'll cover your day care facility without any extra cost. But if your facility turns out to be an unlicensed unit, your day care operations may not be covered under any condo, tenants' or home insurance.

Some of the carriers will endorse such coverage for an additional premium. Others will simply not cover a day care. You should always go through your policy papers and consult with your agent to be sure if your policy has such benefits or if it's offered for an additional cost.

That's there, but if it's covered, the rates would very much depend on the liability limits of your home, condo or tenant policy.
