I have pd into a univ. life insur. policy for over 20 years (17,000) and it is now worth 200.00! Can I sue my agent for lack of counsel etc. - he never did any - espec. when in the 1990's there was a lot in the news re: Univ. Life policies! So mad...

You may very well have a case or no case at all. It is entirely dependent on the circumstances and when you realized there was a problem with your policy.

It will be harder in your situation to make a case because you were supposed to have received, read, and kept each of the 20 annual statements the insurance company has sent, and understand what those statements were trying to tell you.

An analysis of your matter is needed to determine what recourse you may have, if any. That's too confidential to explore in a public forum such as this.

wow, that is a shame, it never ceases to amaze me how people are taken advantage of, especially if they think whole heartedly that this is a good policy. Is the university aware of this? I am sure that many people would be upset if they knew they were throwing away their money like this.

LOL

"Univ." means universal, not university.
