My mom passed away and there is a monthly automatic draft on her checking account to american general but we cannot find a policy

Hello. Martha here, independent agency owner, and agent. If you have legal documents showing that you have the authority to deal with your mother's affairs, this should be an easy matter. Just contact the company, and let them know the situation. They will be able to look up the policy with your mother's information such as Social, date of birth, etc. They can also send out claim papers for you to have the policy benefits paid out.
