Life ins beneficiaries that are deceased

my wife took out life ins years ago and left 50% to her mother and 50% to her father, he passed away over 10 years ago. We thought we changed the beneficiary to each other when we got married and bought our house (the ins company said they show on there records that she called to request the form but it never got put into there system) Am I entitled to her fathers 50% or does her mother get that as well. Her mother says that she knows that her daughter said that it was changed to me and that she didn't care what the forms say she will sign it all over to me but now her brother is trying to tell her mom to keep the money. So it's a mess of course. Am I entitled to it as the next of kin or not?

Did your wife die? If she never changed the beneficiary, her mother may be entitled to 100% of the proceeds. Depends in part on which state this involves.
