India have many life insurance companies like LIC , HDFC life insurance pvt ltd, ICICI life insurance pvt ltd. etc.......
these companies provide allot good facilities for the consumers...........

Hi ajita, maddy has already given you the names of the few prominent insurance companies of India. There are few others doing good business in the Indian market. Many international insurer have also entered the market in collaboration with the trusted national banks and financial houses. The reason behind is that the Indian market is yet not fully explored. There is huge demand for insurance with little competition.

However, the most prominent player till date in the Indian market is the LIC or the Life Insurance Corporation of India. This organization have crossed hundred years in serving the Indian market and is still the major market shareholder.
