Divide up what?? Estate?? Life insurance??
Is the exwife the beneficiary of the policy? Is the insured presently married?

Well, in that case I believe you'll first need to know who the real beneficiary is. I'm eager to know who all are claiming to be the beneficiaries?
Does anyone suspect any beneficiary changes? I think the policyholder would have notarized it at the attorney's office. What do you think?
