Hi Patricia, have you tried contacting with the insurance agent or the insurance company of your son?

If he was married the wife may know whether he had a life policy or not. Or, he may have communicated the information to his friends, its worth checking.

The bank statement and the check book can also throw some light to it.

In addition to the above, you may also like to check out with the present and previous employers of your son.

He might have preserved the insurance related documents somewhere, hence, search his files, deposit boxes and other storage places where he is likely to store important document.

Another way may be accessing the MIB database. This database has stored information, application form of all applied individual life policies, written in the past twelve years. However, there is a nominal charge involved in this process.

Contact all the relevant insurance departments of the state. You can take the help of the ‘life insurance company location system' to get hold of the company name that has written a policy to your son.

There are several private companies which help in locating lost/missing life policies. You can avail their services against fee payment.

Thanks,
Rupert

You can always check the Database at FindYourPolicy.com, If your son was a member and registered his Life Insurance with them, it will be free for you to find.

First off Patrica I'm so very very sorry you lost your son...

This is not a data base for policys, we attempt to lend an ear and advise regarding insurance querys...just to set that record straight for you...we have no such information...

Talk with his employer and his friends..

Hi Patricia

I am sorry to say that this information is not publicly available. here are a few tips that might help you find a policy

You should check his banking records for any evidence of insurance premiums and contact those insurers. YOu should also contact his employer to see if there was any group coverage at work. Other sources might include his credit cards or other loans - that coverage would be limited. But better than nothing.

The MIB is also a source of information. Visit http://www.mib.com/html/lost-life-insurance.html

His home and auto insurance agent (broker) may have sold him life insurance. Or at least recorded where he has it. Check there too. If he has investments the Investment advisor might be aware of any life insurance policies. the same could be said for an accountant or tax preparer.

Beyond that I would ask other family and friends

I do hope that helps.

BJAJ,
So sorry for your loss. Go to www.mib.com and have them run a search for any policy your son might have had.
