I live in Washington, DC and am thinking about moving in with my boyfriend, whom I plan to marry, eventually. I would like to take out a life insurance policy on him. If we live together and become engaged, is there insurable interest? I would also depend on him financially.

You may have an insurable interest in your boyfriend and so does he. If you two are depending on each other or if one of you depends on the other, then you certainly generate insurable interest over there. Life insurance needs the applicant to have insurable interest on the insured at the time of application.
