You are a citizen of what country? Fiance is a citizen of what country? Children are citizens of what country? All of this will matter.

The quick answer is, maybe.

I DO know if you serve in the US Military, it is mandatory to have Life Insurance. You can 'add' anyone that you choose on your (Military) Life Insurance.

Sorry, i should have said foreign fiance. I do not have a spouse i am single. I am a citizen of USA, my fiance is a citizen of Italy and so are the children. Yes, life insurance for military includes your immediate family members or natural parents and the issue is that me and my fiance are not legally married yet so i can't claim them as my family members.

You can purchase private life insurance

No, you can't claim them as family members, through the Military anyway (can't get 'Dependent' coverage, etc.). But..you CAN put them on the Military Life Insurance (assuming you serve in the US Armed Forces).However...(I say this to everyone..) whomever you 'add' on your Life Insurance (through Military or 'civilian') make sure it's someone you trust.

I'm still not sure whether you are looking to purchase additional life insurance on your own life to protect them in case of death, or whether you want to purchase coverage on the lives of your fiance and her children. Can you clarify?

You can buy private insurance and name them as beneficiary, you can also potentially get them coverage through a U.S. insurer. Alternatively, there are insurance companies in Europe.

If you are buying more life insurance on yourself, the underwriting would depend on what type of work you do in the military and any foreign travel you may have. If you are in and out of places like Iraq and Afghanistan, it may be much more difficult to get additional coverage. If you are living on base in the US and not traveling overseas, it likely wouldn't be a problem.

Oops, should have put in *if you are looking to get coverage on them (fiance and kids)* you can potentially get coverage through U.S. insurer...etc.
