Do you mean on yourself? Why would a family member have a policy on you and not let you know?

May be to put himself/herself as the beneficiary of the plan so that (s)he can collect the benefits at the event of the death of the OP. This may be a possibility if someone is trying to plot a fraud in the future

Dear goodness I hope not. I get tired of hearing about all the fraud that goes on...especially in these parts. Can't understand why it is so hard to make money the good old fashion way...working for it!!

From the poster's questions, I am not sure what he is talking about. Is he concerned that a policy is taken out on him? If that is the case then there must have been a medical if it is anything substantial. He would have to sign that application no matter what. It is very hard or impossible to have a life insurance policy taken out on someone and have that someone not know about.

There can't be a life insurance poilcy on you if you didn't sign it. You can, however, be a beneficiary and not know about it.

If you are talking about someone else having a policy, and naming you or someone else as beneficiary, then you just have to convince someone to tell you.

UNLESS you're a minor.

I was wondering that. It wouldn't be right if someone could just go and put a policy in place without you knowing it...unless of course you are a minor.

Of course. I assumed that was a given since there was nothing in his post that indicated the insured was a minor.

I think she was just throwing that idea out there.
