wow philip..aaa, first sorry to hear about your mama...
What state are you in? When did she die? Who is 'in charge' of her estate? Is there a husband, other children etc.? Who made the funeral arrangements? Whomever is in charge of her assets will likely know if there a policy and who the beneficary is.. _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake. First off I too am sorry to ehar about your mother.
You can also see if she has any old bank registers around and look through them and see if there were any payments made to an insurer.
Everytime I see a post like this I think how people really need to write information down so when they pass there is not more strifw for their loved ones.
I was skimming through a book at the doctors office the other day and seen an advertisement for a writing book that was labeled "what my loved ones need to know". Inside you could list all your policy and whatnot. I thought that was a great idea. Even if someone just took a plain old tablet and did the same thing. |

Hi Philip, as the other posters have correctly mentioned you may have to check her documents and bank register to know about the policies. You may also start your search by asking her close ones, like-her friends.
Lori is right, who ever in-charge of her estate is likely to know the whereabouts of the policies. Is there a will?
If she's been working, you may also check with her employer. |

well, first of all, i'm sorry to hear about the departure of your mother. firstly, where are you currently residing in? and how about the residence of your mother? does she have any other children? is she living with her husband?
check her documents and see if there's any indications about a life insurance policy. you could also ask around, like friends, close relatives or even neighbours. |

apart from all the suggestions by my fellow members i will just add that you should go to that person who takes care of all her legal, financial matters, it could be anyone her spouse, her life insurance agent or for that matter any professional financial plannar.they will be in a better position to guide on the issue..... _________________ www.Parthaconsultancy.info
