Yup, more and more international companies are penetrating in the Indian market.
The Indian population by its sheer size offers the largest market amongst the developing nations. Also with the introduction of open economy the purchasing power of the Asian countries has increased, and so the has the demand for upgraded financial products. That is why the international giants are trying to tap the otherwise virgin market. Hence, no wonder if you find some of the common US insurance giants in the Indian market as well.

Actually Lori I wasn't really attempting to add anything substantive to this thread I just took your advice and Googled "top ten insurance companies in India" and that's what came up.
I don't know what relevance the top ten insurance companies in India has on an Internet message board from the USA?
It's not like anyone from India is going to buy a policy from this message board and conversely nobody from the USA is going to buy an insurance policy from India via an Internet message board.
And I really don't want to come off sounding like a jerk or harsh but these threads make we want to sandpaper my eyeballs because they simply don't make any sense.
Further, why would someone bother to start a thread on an Internet message regarding a such a non-sense issue?
Who cares?
Additionally, the so called top ten insurance companies is highly debatable depending on what product you're talking about. As far as I know Illinois Mutual is still the best company for blue collar disability income insurance and most insurance agents have never even heard of them.
Okay, I'm done venting......

Well, I guess that he might have googled and has stumbled upon this site. I don't know how high this site ranks in the Indian search engines, but it seems to me the only possible explanation.
This can be a genuine question, someone needs some help with his homework or it may be a clever and improved way of advertising.
