My son had his licensed revoked for too many points. He has been elegible for2 months to get his license back. We cannot do that because he needs proof of insurance in his name even though he does not own a vehicle. How is hesupposed to get a job and be able afford a car and insurance if he has to insure a "phantom" car before he can get his license??? I always thought you insured the vehicle not the driver. I understand when he does get a vehicle he will have to pay higher premiums than he wouldv'e before his suspension. But why punish him now? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

Who says the insurance needs to be in his name? Perhaps he only needs to be listed on a policy as a driver.
Consult with a local agent and I'm sure they will be able to assist you. This is why they exist. |

| Quote: | | But why punish him now? | Apparently your state feels that by getting his license not just suspended, (bad enough) but revoked (worse yet) requires additional punishment. That also safe guards innocent people on the road.
Your state must allow drivers to be insured, (without a vehicle). Contact a few agents and see what they can offer... | Quote: | | How is hesupposed to get a job | Bus, walk, bike? He didn't have a job prior to this? How old is your son? _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake.
