hi im 17 and recently borrowed my older brother's car and got into an accident. will his insurance cover it? i feel really bad and need some answers.. :(

If you were a permissive user (not stolen) then most likely, yes.

Does it matter that im under 18 or anything? or does it just automatically cover it if it's permissive?

Its automatic... even if you were 12. State law requires financial responsibility in the use of the vehicle (in all but about 3 states). Having insurance meets that responsibility. So an insurance company cannot exclude coverage to a 3rd party based on some exclusion in the policy (it's against public interest). Worst case, the policy limits are lowered to the state minimum.
