If you have a contract for a fixed price repair, unless you change the scope of work to be performed (a "change order" is executed between you and the contractor), the contractor is stuck with his fixed price. Any attempt to charge you more money, failure to complete the work, or lien on your property will be overturned by a court. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent.
