The insurance company that has covered my home for 17 yrs has informed me they will not renew my policy because of an $800 claim involving "Bodily Injury Caused by Dog." This is the only claim filed against this property the entire time they've had it. This was a female dog (with a litter of puppies) that got out and injured a neighbor who raised a bare foot at her. What can I do? Is there any insurance company that is going to allow me to keep her? What options are available?

I'd recommend contacting a local agent and having them check to see if any carrier will write the policy. Expect to pay a high premium if you want to keep the dog.
