dissatisfied with standard of repairs

Claimed for garage roof damage, insurer sent contractor. Now after repairs, I got it inspected personally, and found the work dissatisfactory. Insurer hasn't sent someone for inspection yet. What should I do? Will they offer remedial work or I have to live with it?

Did the insurance company actually repair the roof or did you hire your own contractor who you paid to repair the roof? If you hire someone, why would the insurance company be to blame for poor work?

If the insurance company provided the contractor, then they will have to make it good. You should not let this sit idle for more than 24 hours. Call the claims department EVERY DAY, even twice a day, until they send someone to review the repairs and make a determination.

In the meantime, your state Contractor's Licensing entity probably has a complaint process in which they send a licensed contractor to evaluate the situation and make a report. They can force the contractor to correct the problem or pay to have the repairs done by someone else.

And how do i know the contractor has been paid or not? The insurer didn't send me the check. If he has been paid off, I doubt that he'll accept the poor workmanship. What if he says that further damages have been caused by us after he had finished off with the repairs? It has already been over a week. and a half. I have called them up thrice, and each time they say they'll send someone.

The insurance company can verify that the contractor has been paid. Poor workmanship is not made better by being paid for the work. As I previously stated, your state's Contractor Licensing entity will have a mechanism for inspecting the work and assessing its quality. The contractor can be forced to correct deficiencies or face the loss of his license.

As for the insurance company, do as I suggested. Call the claims department EVERY DAY, ask to speak to the highest level of supervisor/manager you can, and keep the pressure on them. Document the day and time of your call, and the name(s) of every person with whom you speak.
