I have renter insurance and lost everything in a house fire. I have received a check with ACV amount but I have full replacement cost so that leave me to a less recoverable depreciation to receive. My problem is I have replaced what I could with the ACV check didn't have enough to replace everything. Can I still request the less recoverable depreciation to replace the rest of my contents? or do I have to replace what I couldn't replace because I ran out of insurance money with my own money to request the less recoverable depreciation?

Replace what you can with the money you have. Ask for the RCV on those items. Use that money to replace the other items and ask for the RCV on those items.
