Can a homeowner claim for the labor to clean the house?

A homeowner washed the damaged clothes by the washing machine and cleaned the house before the mitigation company came. Can the home owner claim the labor to wash the clothes and clean the house or the home insurance policy only pays the expense made by the others? Thank you for your answer.

If cleaning the home is covered then the home owner can make that claim. You need to look at it this way... the coverage is for the repair. So if clean up is part of that repair then reasonable expenses are owed. How the repairs get done is up to the home owner.

If my roof is damaged then the insurance pays me. If I do the work myself then I still keep the money. Same if the repairs were done before the payment was made.

Cleaning clothes and room is different from the repair. But cleaning dirty clothes and room is directly related to the house water damage. What coverage should cover the labor or time to clean the dirty clothes and room due to the house water damage, the dwelling, personal property or what else? Can anyone explain it?
