I need to know if I do not have flood insurance, will my insurance pay for my AC breaking down while I was at work and leaking water on the floors and in the walls. I have had this house for less than a year

Unless the air handler was outside, which I'd never seen before, it's not flood (I'm guessing attic). The water damage is usually covered.

This type of loss would be covered under most standard homeowners insurance policies. What you have is not considered a "Flood".
