Hi there why don't you try out an option that one of my friends has tried out before. She just contacted AFLAC and asked them to 'Cash Out' her earlier policy & let the cash values accrued on that policy to be sent to her. So, once your earlier policy gets out of the picture, then you would be paying for the recent one only. So, you may try out this option. Regards, Crazy-n-bitchy

Hi Crazy-n-bitchy,

Is that a good option ?? I'd consider that an option only if I'm in dirth of money. This money coming from AFLAC would then be quite a fund to support me, however, it would be taxable while you draw this money or may be at the year-ending. got it!
Thanks,

Call up your agent or insurer and they would give you a form like the one depicted in the following url >>> ohr.gatech.edu/Departmental%20Folders/Benefits_web/forms/AFLAC%20Drop% 20Form.doc

Hi hannah,

I really don't understand the three prior posts, but I just wanted to make a couple of comments.

First of all, I congratulate you for deciding to "quit AFLAC". In my opinion, the only real thing this particular company offers is a duck.

Now, I really don't know what type of insurance you purchased with AFLAC.
Is it a payroll deduction plan you bought at work? In my area of the country, this is their primary market.

If you bought the insurance at work, all you have to do is to tell your manager or HR person or plan administrator to stop deducting the insurance premiums from your paycheck.

If you bought the accident policy and the hospital indemnity policy, there is no "cash value" in these type policies. You have just been paying for the protection up to this point.

If AFLAC offers life insurance in your area, then there could be some "cash value" in the life policy, if you have had it for several years. In this case, all you will need to do is to get your life insurance policy number and call AFLAC customer service and they will tell you whether or not you have any accumulated cash value and if so, they can send you the appropriate cash surrender form.

Also, if you have a life insurance policy, there could be an option to take a "paid-up" amount of life insurance.

We really don't know what type of insurance you have and we don't really understand what you want to do. If you could be a little more specific we could probably be of more help.

Wow Insurance Maze doesn't not know what she/he is talking about! I am an Aflac Policyholder. I also am in the HR department where we welcome Aflac. They pay their claims promptly and fairly. Hannah needs to see if her company is in a Flex 125 plan. If so she cannot cancel until open enrollment....Unless there is a qualified event such as divorce, death, birth, etc. Or if her plans are an after taxed deduction. She needs to do this within 30 days of the event. AFLAC is an OUTSTANDING company!!!!!! Oh and one other thing…..Aflac does pay cash directly to the policyholder when there is a claim to be file. The accident and hospitalization plans are INSURANCE plans. They are not going to build in cash value; however, they will pay cash when you file a claim.

We had aflac and it paid promptly when my husband was bit by our dog, I was greatful to have it and wish we had it now, but don't. I wish the company still offered it, do you have any information on how to get a personal policy, does it cost more if you have a personal policy.

Don't agree with that in the least. I have found Insurance Maze to be quite knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Your next statement of:

Quote:

"Open Enrollment" has NOTHING to do with canceling coverage in any way, shape or form. Open enrollment deals primarily with (Section 125 plan or not) an employee's ability to get into employer group and after-market plans (such as Aflac) without having to worry about health or other qualifying concerns. It has nothing to do with getting OUT of a plan.

The only disagreement that I have with Insurance Maze is that I think that AFLAC is a great carrier, and is filling the void left by employers who cannot afford to carry the full panopoly of benefits at the workplace anymore.

Finally, don't confuse "AFLAC pays cash to the insured" with "cash value." These two have, again, nothing to do with eachother. "Cash Value" is what is contained within an annuity or permanent life insurance policy. For covered claims, AFLAC pays the insured directly based on it's list of benefits offered within the contracts.

While I have no experience with Aflac ,I would only like to add that Insurance maze did say this was HIS opinion and we are all entitled to that.So please don't judge him harshly for his opinion just because it differs from yours. Everybody agree to disagree?

We had aflac and it was great when my dog tore my husband up, the problem is, you just don't know how good the insurance is until you need it. I personally thought that aflac was really easy to file a claim with, they paid promptly, did not give us the run around or ask a lot of questions. Unless a whole lot has changed with it, I thought it was a really good insurance.

PostPosted: Tue Nov 18, 2008 6:09 pm   Post subject: New Insurance Associate with AFLAC

I am a new AFLAC Associate and so far the experience has been very positive. I have even been able to help policy holders (who I did not sell) recover money from claims that were either filed incorrectly or not at all. AFLAC paid them very promptly (within 7 days). I have learned that AFLAC does not look for loopholes to keep people from receiving money. They do however pay according to the benefit coverage as outlined in the coverage. If AFLAC does not pay a claim, it is because the policy coverage did not cover that specific issue.

I am still learning about AFLAC products and about the insurance business. So, this post may sound naive but it is nonetheless very sincere.

Goodnatured:

Has anyone told you that it is possible to have an AFLAC policy without it being a payroll deduction? I would think by now someone has let you know this, but just in case, I wanted to make sure you knew about this. In fact, the policy you get is called a "direct" policy and is a bit more for the premium versus the payroll deduction premium.

trying to help, yes I did know that you could pick the AFLAC coverage on your own without company/job involvement. They are one of the vendors that attend our job fairs every year.

It was an awesome insurance, we really like it, it covered us when needed and move very quickly on any claims that we had filed.
