Parents and Life Insurance

For those of us who still have living parents, is it a good idea to make sure that they have sufficient life insurance to at least help with the final expenses we will one day face? Is that smart or is it greedy?

I know my parents will pass on some day, however....i don't want their money, I'd rather have them.

I bet you are a good person sdchargersfan. You would choose family over money. That is good. Not a materialistic one. But the sad part of it is that, someday our parents would leave us. There is nothing we can do about it. We like to be with them, but only time can tell how long.

I think it is a good idea also. My hubby and i wanted to do the same for my mother in-law. I would have done this on my mother but I never acted in time. I would not care if my kids got an insurance policy and and got a leg up after I am gone.At least my death would benifit thwm in some way and might ease their grief at my passing. My mother in-law though I fear is not that way and would be angry we we got a policy on her.If there was a way to do it without her knowing about it we would do it.

In my opinion, insurance is more than providing final expenses.

For people who are fortunate to still have parents with them, getting their parents an insurance can be something of meaningful. The parents can, through appropriate arrangement, assign the policy or donate the policy proceeds to charitable organizations under their name.

Alternatively, insurance can help grandparents transcend time and space to express their love and care to their grandchildren. Insurance is truly a gift of love.
