I am trying to get a bonded title for a commercial truck. TX Department of Transportation tells me I have to get an appraisal myself. I need help on finding someone to do this in my area. I've talked to several property damage adjusters, but they only do damage assesments. Any info is appreciated!

What is this person going to be doing... verifying that the truck is road worthy and safe? What documentation is the DOT requiring?

I'm trying to get a bonded title. DOT says they can't do the appraisal because it's a commercial truck (apparently you can't find commerical trucks on NADA??) They asked me to get the appraisal. The only documentation they gave me was a form to be filled out by a certified adjuster. It has a place for them to put the value of the truck in , sign and give their certified number. Once DOT has the value, they can assign a bond for that amount.

I'd guess that a public adjuster would probably be willing to confirm the value of the vehicle. public adjuster does not work for an insurance company, they work for any invividual that will hire them.
