I'm not sure that I've understood the question properly. What procedures you want to know about? application procedure? claim procedure?

The clam process with the insurance company involves the following steps

  • First, you are required to evaluate your claim, like gathering the information, evidences, documents and other papers supporting your claim.
  • Secondly, you need to contact the insurance agent. He/she can help you with filling up the forms and interacting with the insurance company.
  • Thirdly, prepare an argument in support of your claim, because the insurance company will investigate into the matter before writing the check to you. And you should also know the probable answers of all the questions that the insurance adjuster may ask you regarding the claim.
  • Fourthly, be courteous while interacting with the claim adjuster. If all goes well, the adjuster after investigating and determining the worth of the damage will instruct the insurer to write a claim check to you.

The whole process may take certain amount of time and you have to be really patient during this period, otherwise you may end up in the wrong side.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Carol

Like the claim process, the application for the policy also goes through scrutinies before getting approved. The applicant for the policy is required to put all relevant information in the insurance policy application. Then the policy will go through the underwriting process where the coverage level and premium rate will be determined. The underwriters will determine the risks associated insuring the individual and after than will approve the coverage to the applicant.

Also you're required to know that the coverage doesn't start immediately. A certain time needs to lapse before you can turn a claim to the insurance company.
