I am looking for any niche insurance products or specialties. Or any niche insurance concepts. Thank you.

Well, the word specialty insurance can be applied to the insurance forms other then the conventional. Following are some of the specialty insurance that are available in the market.

  • Trip insurance
  • Dog bite insurance
  • Mobile home insurance
  • Pet health insurance
  • Wedding or special event insurance

I appreciate the info. I was unclear in my original question. What I should have asked was, is there a niche way of positioning a particular life insurance product? For example, in the past I have worked with Loan Officers to market mortgage protection life insurance. I was marketing to a specific group - new home buyers. Mortgage protection insurance is just another form of term insurance, but postioned/marketed different. So I guess when I said "niche", I meant is there a way to take a life policy, say VUL, and postion/market it uniquely to a specific group?
Or marketing dog bite insurance to postal workers?

I sell final expense policies. I get a demographic list of people aged 50 to 80 with incomes from 15,000 to 40,000 per year. then I mail each of these people a reply card that basically says that Govt may pay $255.00 as a death benefit when you die..... This isn't enough. ...... etc. I get about 1% response from these cards. These people I go see.

It is a very simple presentation, and requires very little servicing.

Scott thank you for the information. Is there much commission in these types of policies?

Johnnypop,

My preferred company will give 100% first year commissions with a 60% advance. However some companys pay up to 120% with 100% advanced.

HOpe this helps

I looked up this life policy thing and I am surprisesd you only get a 1% response. It really seems to be a good benefit to have in place as you grow older.
