Unemployed and need surgery....what do I do?

Posted: Fri Nov 05, 2010 5:03 pm   Post subject: Unemployed and need surgery....what do I do?   Hi, I have been out of work for over a year. I was working in construction for 7 years and needed surgery on my inner ear. I had the surgery which i was on Temporary Disability for 2 months. I tried to return to work and there was none. Now a year later I am having the same problems with my ear and am scheduled for surgery in December. I know that UI says you need to be available for work but the surgery would make it impossible. What do I need to do? Is there Disability insurance that would take over instead of UI? I want to be prepared.
