The healthcare industry is challenged by errors or theft of identity as well as fraud amounting to billions of US dollars each year. Precise Biometrics is now participating in the launch of a new generation of health cards with fingerprint recognition and Match-on-Card together with Secure Service Corp (SSC) that can help prevent these issues.

I think it's a good move. Identity theft has always remained a concern for the entire insurance industry and health insurance is not an exception. The match-on-card technology will prevent the chances of insurance frauds.

I think it'll also cast an effect on the health insurance policy premium rates. If the plan goes fine, we all will be able to enjoy the fruit of a well managed healthcare insurance system.

Thanks,
Rupert

I too feel that the newly introduced fingerprint identification in the health card will minimizes the chances of health insurance frauds. However, the individual can always follow some simple steps to prevent himself/herself from being scammed by the con stars…

  • Never disclose your personal identification number to an unknown person

  • Insert password to your credit card account.

  • Every time pull out the free credit report from all the three credit rating agencies and check for entries that are not yours.

  • Don't leave your purse in your car. It may facilitate identity theft.

However, thanks Jeremy for sharing this informative post with us.
